We want people to know how great Goldens are.  The links above will get you started on that task.  The more you know about Goldens, the more you'll want them, probably.  I can't imagine a better dog to raise your children with, to have a companion if you're all alone, to have to comfort you in your Golden years, or at any other time of life.  The only negative thing about them is how much they shed.  I usually dust mop everyday to keep up with the shedding, and try to give them a good brushing every day...outside.  That way, not so much comes out on the floor.

When you're doing your research about Goldens, you'll find out that they do have some health issues.  Responsible breeders are trying to eliminate these problems.  PLEASE only buy a puppy from a breeder who is actively trying to do all they can to give their puppies the best chance at good health.  A good breeder will do at least four health clearances on their breeding stock:  hips, elbows, heart and eyes.  If you come across a breeder who doesn't take the time, effort and money to get these clearances, don't buy a puppy from them.  I'd be happy to expand on that if you want to talk about it.
